Ethical Principles

All Sunar Investment employees and stakeholders exhibit attitudes and behaviors that ensure and protect the integrity of the SUNAR corporate culture. They preserve and enhance the prestige of the SUNAR name, as well as the reliability and reputation of the corporate structure. All employees and stakeholders act with transparency, honesty, fairness, good faith, and understanding. Without compromising honesty, honor, and dignity, Sunar Investment employees provide fair and high-quality service to customers and others with speed, ease, and courtesy. They take care to get along well with their colleagues, keep their environment clean and protected, and dress and maintain their appearance in accordance with the corporate culture.

All Sunar Investment employees and stakeholders make only those promises and commitments they can keep. All employees and stakeholders read, correctly perceive, and implement the SUNAR Principles and Values, Corporate Social Responsibility Policy, and Sustainability Vision. In the light of the Sustainability Vision, the principle of efficiency and saving in every matter is adopted by all personnel. Contributing to sustainability and being a responsible citizen is essential in all activities both inside and outside the company.

The areas in which Sunar Investment employees are authorized to act on behalf of the company are clearly specified in the instructions provided in their job descriptions and other internal regulations of the company. Sunar Investment employees do not exercise authorities not granted to them and do not exceed their limits of authority. Sunar Investment employees and stakeholders do not use the SUNAR identity or power for personal gain.

Employees with company representation rights and departments designated by the Board of Directors and/or General Directorate may only conduct speeches, interviews, or give statements about the company by obtaining the final approval of the Chairman of the Board and by providing full and accurate information regarding the content. On platforms where opinions are expressed representing the company, they must share company views in line with company strategies and policies rather than personal opinions. Giving statements to any media outlet, conducting interviews, or participating as a speaker in seminars, conferences, etc., is subject to the approval of the Chairman of the Board. No personal interest or gain is sought in these activities.

Honesty – Transparency

Accuracy and honesty are essential in all our business processes. Sunar Investment employees comply with the laws of the Republic of Türkiye and the rules of international law in their activities inside or outside the company. Authorized Sunar Investment employees are obliged to provide accurate, complete, and understandable information to all legal institutions and organizations of the state and to stakeholders upon request.

Confidentiality

All Sunar Investment employees and stakeholders take care to protect information confidentiality both in their own work and in mutual exchanges, and they do not share company information that could be considered a secret with third parties. All employees and stakeholders are obliged to protect Sunar’s R&D information, trade secrets, assets, and interests. If it is uncertain whether a piece of information is confidential, it should not be shared with third parties. All Sunar employees respect and protect the intellectual property, confidentiality, and ownership rights of their stakeholders.

Conflict of Interest and Providing Benefit

Sunar Investment employees and stakeholders do not provide benefits to themselves, their relatives, families, or other third parties by taking advantage of their current positions. Sunar Investment employees do not incur debts or provide guarantees beyond their financial means. Regardless of the amount, they do not borrow money from company customers or subordinates and do not make these individuals their guarantors. Full-time Sunar employees do not engage in activities that would require them to be considered “Traders” or “Self-Employed” professionals, and they do not serve as board members or auditors in other companies. However, they may carry out such activities with special written permission from the Chairman of the Board.

Accepting and Giving Gifts                                                                     

Sunar Investment employees and stakeholders do not request gifts or make hints to other firms and individuals with whom the company has a relationship. They do not accept gifts, money, checks, property, free vacations, or special discounts that would put the company under obligation. Within the boundaries of courtesy, gifts other than money, checks, and property are delivered to the General Coordination Office by informing the first supervisor. The General Coordinator acts with the knowledge of the Chairman of the Board.

Bribery                                                                                                   

Receiving, giving, or offering bribes and/or commissions is unacceptable under any circumstances.

Fair Working Environment

Equal opportunities are offered to everyone at Sunar Investment. Discrimination is not tolerated regarding age, race, belief, skin color, gender, language, nationality, marital status, pregnancy, political opinion, disability, or religion. This policy applies to recruitment, promotion, termination of employment, dismissal, leave, wages, and all other matters.

Harassment/Violence

No Sunar Investment employee is permitted to engage in any form of harassment. Harassment includes unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and all other verbal and physical behaviors of a sexual nature. Harassment also includes the intent and effect of unreasonably interfering with a person’s work performance or creating an intimidating, hostile, or offensive working environment. Therefore, attempting psychological violence (mobbing) or psychological violence against a colleague is also considered within the scope of harassment acts.

 

All Sunar Investment employees and stakeholders are obliged to comply with ethical principles and codes of conduct. When exposed to or witnessing situations and practices that conflict with these principles and codes, they should primarily apply to their first supervisor, the highest supervisor they report to, and/or the human resources department, depending on the situation. All Sunar Investment employees are free to apply to the Chairman of the Board or legal processes in cases where they do not receive positive feedback on their applications. In such cases, all Sunar Investment employees can also use the Suggestion and Complaint boxes directly, either with their names or anonymously.

If any Sunar Investment employees or stakeholders are uncertain about whether a behavior they intend to implement complies with Sunar Principles and Policies, they should apply to the Human Resources Department.
