R&D and biotechnology lie at the heart of Sunar Yatırım’s growth strategy. Our R&D Center, the only one in Türkiye operating in the starch industry, develops high value-added products through its engineering expertise, advanced laboratory infrastructure and innovation-driven approach. Established in May 2018, our R&D Center operates with a technology infrastructure investment exceeding USD 1 million and a specialised team of engineers, bioengineers and food engineers.
Through our R&D activities, we develop innovative solutions for a wide range of industries, from starch derivatives and biodegradable polymers to pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. We do more than create new products; we develop technologies that reduce dependence on imports, strengthen export capacity and contribute to Türkiye’s competitiveness.
As one of the key pillars of our biotechnology-driven sustainable growth strategy, our R&D Center plays a critical role in the success of our group. In this context, the liquid sorbitol we produce from corn has qualified for EXCIPACT GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) certification, internationally demonstrating our ability to manufacture products for the pharmaceutical and excipient industries in accordance with high safety and quality standards. With this certification, we are among the few companies in Europe capable of producing GMP-certified liquid sorbitol.
