From energy to manufacturing, and from agriculture to logistics, we are transforming our entire value chain to reduce its environmental impact; we are contributing to the green transition through investments in renewable energy, circular economy practices, and bio-based production technologies.
At Sunar Yatırım, we regard sustainability as an integral part of our corporate culture and a fundamental aspect of the way we conduct our business. Through our investments in energy efficiency and renewable energy, we reduce our environmental impact while making a tangible contribution to Türkiye’s green transformation through our Solar Power Plants. By 2026, we aim to meet 95% of our facilities’ electricity needs through our own solar power plants. In addition to reducing carbon emissions, this approach enables us to establish a cost-effective and secure energy infrastructure.
We place the principles of the circular economy and zero waste at the heart of our production processes. As Türkiye’s first producer of Thermoplastic Starch (TPS) and biopolymers, we supply biodegradable and compostable plastic raw materials to the plastics and packaging industries. Through these TÜV-certified products, we develop bio-based and sustainable solutions that help reduce the environmental footprint.
We do not limit sustainability to its environmental dimension; we also consider food security and supply chain resilience to be integral components of this approach. Through our investments in the Osmaniye Flour Mill and Konya Licensed Warehousing facilities, we strengthen our storage and logistics infrastructure, supporting continuity in production and enhancing consumer confidence.
In the agricultural sector, we are Türkiye’s first and only producer to implement sustainable farming practices in both corn and sunflower cultivation. As part of our sustainable sunflower farming programme, which has been in operation since 2016, we bring Farm Sustainability Assessment (FSA)-certified products to consumers. Working with 180 farmers across more than 20,000 decares of agricultural land in four districts, we increase productivity and promote environmentally and socially responsible production through training, support and technology transfer.
Through all these initiatives, we adopt an integrated sustainability approach encompassing environmental, social and economic dimensions. Our projects directly contribute to 16 of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
