As Sunar Investment, we treat sustainability as an integral part of our corporate culture by the very nature of our business. While reducing our environmental impact through energy efficiency and renewable energy investments, we provide tangible contributions to our country’s green transformation via our Solar Power Plants (SPP). As of 2026, we aim to meet 95% of our facilities’ electricity needs from our own solar power plants. This approach, in addition to reducing carbon emissions, creates a cost-effective and secure energy structure.
We place the circular economy and zero-waste approach at the center of our production processes. As Turkey’s first Thermoplastic Starch (TPS) and biopolymer producer, we offer biodegradable and compostable plastic raw materials to the plastic and packaging industries. With these TÜV-certified products, we develop bio-based and sustainable solutions that reduce the environmental footprint.
We do not limit sustainability solely to the environmental dimension; we view food security and supply chain resilience as an integral part of this approach. We support continuity in production and consumer confidence by strengthening our storage and logistics infrastructure with our Osmaniye Flour Mill and Konya Licensed Warehousing investments.
In the field of agriculture, we are the first and only producer to implement sustainable agricultural practices in corn and sunflower in Turkey. Within the scope of the sustainable sunflower agriculture program conducted since 2016, we bring FSA (Farm Sustainability Assessment) certified products to consumers. Through our work carried out in four districts, on over 20,000 decares of land and with 180 farmers, we increase productivity through education, support, and technology transfer, and we expand human and environmentally friendly production.
Through all these efforts, we adopt an integrated sustainability approach covering environmental, social, and economic dimensions; with our projects, we contribute directly to 16 of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
